Laiolo Reginin
Laiolo Reginin started producing wine 70 years ago, in the village of Vinchio, at the heart of the piedmontese motherland of Barbera: Asti. They are now in their third generation of winemakers.
The distinguishing trait of this 7-hectares vineyard is its land, which contains yellow sand, tufo (limestone sand), and red clay. Perfection. They also bought 3 hectares of woodland in which they hunt for white truffles. Luckily for me, I would add, as they are the best I had in my life. You have my word!
Gianpaolo and Annalisa's philosophy wishes for minimal impact on the environment. No artificial fertilisers, total exclusion of herbicides and dessicants, hand-harvest. In short, wine as it should be made.
In Vino Sitis distributes their most precious gem, "Da Sul": only 7'000 bottles a year from a centennial single vineyard. Grapes are vinified in steel and refined in tonneaux. It is a true Barbera, an explosion of fresh red fruits.
