Christian Zündel studied Natural Sciences at ETH and was awarded a pedology degree.
His grandmother was from Ticino, so he always felt the connection with this land. The Zündels live in Beride, in Malcantone: a world apart, even from us locals.
Christian vinified the first Merlot in 1986 and since 2003 he converted to biodynamics.
Minimal intervention, a year and a half in old barriques. The wine has to be the purest expression of the land. And of Time. As the old adagio goes: "You have to be early in the vineyard and late in the cellar".
Christian is an artisan, a winemaker that loves the outdoors. He spends most of the available time in the vineyards, as he believes that the points are set there.
