Amélie Vuillet & Sébastien Jacques
Both natives of the Jura, Amélie Vuillet and Sébastien Jacques quietly produce some of the region’s most compelling and distinctive wines.
Their path into winemaking was shaped by years spent learning alongside respected Jura vignerons, including at estates such as Domaine Tissot, Domaine Overnoy-Houillon, as well as Brignot and Bornard.
In 2011, they acquired a small parcel of vines in Arbois, initially producing wine solely for their own enjoyment. A few years later, small quantities began to find their way into the hands of a limited circle of drinkers. Today, they farm just over one hectare, divided into tiny parcels surrounding their home in Molamboz, with additional vines in Arbois and Montigny-lès-Arsures.
Their approach in the vineyards is guided by deep respect for the living environment. Biodiversity is encouraged, treatments are kept to an absolute minimum, and the soils are worked by horse, allowing the vines to remain closely connected to their place.
The cellar, adjoining their home, reflects the same philosophy: winemaking is gentle and unforced, with no pumps, no temperature control, no filtration, and no additives, only patience and attention.
The wines that result are vivid, tactile, and unmistakably individual. Marked by freshness, energy, and subtle complexity, they feel resolutely handmade. Clear expressions of both the Jura landscape and the thoughtful, independent spirit of those who craft them.
