Calabretta
For four generations, the Calabretta family has grown grapes in accordance with the centuries-old methods of Etna, Sicily. Blessed by the famous volcanic soils and the dramatic temperature differential from day to night.
Massimiliano Calabretta, helped by his father Massimo, has been the vigneron since 1997.
The Domaine is located on the northern slope of the volcano. 12 hectares of vineyard, many ungrafted on stepped terraces made by stone walls, mixed with olive trees and fruit orchards.
The New York Times, Slow Food’s Slow Wine Guide, many have mentioned Calabretta to be one of the very best Etna producers. Patience is “de rigueur” as the Vecchie Vigne shows.
