Domaine Villet
Founded in 1900, Domaine Villet is one of the oldest continuously family-run estates in Arbois, and one of the most quietly revered.
In 1988, Gérard and Christine Villet made the pioneering shift to organic viticulture, becoming early adopters in the region, abandoning chemicals in favour of compost, manure and plant extracts. Their dedication to organic farming and the well-being of their vines and ecosystem has inspired others in their region.
Today their son Natanaël heads the domaine, carrying the same focused and ambitious vision forward across 5.7 hectares of vines spread over seven parcels around Arbois.
The estate grows all the great Jura varieties including Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir, producing everything from crisp ouillé whites to age-worthy Vin Jaune. No added sulphur. No shortcuts.
In keeping with their sustainability ethos, a large portion of their bottles are repurposed, collected from restaurants and bars. Old-school labels, yes, but wines of exceptional character and honesty.
