This Blanc de Noirs is composed of equal parts Pinot Noir from Le Breuil in the Marne Valley and Pinot Meunier from the Côteaux Sud d’Epernay, all sourced from biodynamically farmed vineyards on predominantly chalky soils.
Vinified in tank and 228-liter barrels with 50% reserve wine, the final blend receives zero dosage, a deliberate choice that strips away any sweetness and lets the raw terroir speak without compromise. This is Champagne at its most transparent and honest.
In the glass, the wine is immediately expressive. Notes of dried pear, spice, mint, crushed leaves, and kirsch caress the palate, with all the elements in remarkable balance. The chalky minerality of those biodynamic vineyards threads through from first sip to lingering finish.
Laherte’s low-to-no dosage style is unforgiving by design, with no added sugar to round out any rough edges, it demands pristine, perfectly ripe fruit and hands-on attention throughout the winemaking process, which is why production remains intentionally small.
Rated 92 points by Antonio Galloni (Vinous), this is a grower Champagne for the connoisseur and the curious alike. Serious, singular, and utterly alive.
