100% Pinot Noir. 18 months in one year old French oak, 20% new. From 4 parcels: Les Pressonniers, Les Crais, Jouise and Les Seuvrées.
Gevrey Chambertin is the most celebrated red wine village in Burgundy, home to nine grands crus and a terroir that produces Pinot Noir of extraordinary depth, structure and longevity. Marchand Tawse's village cuvée draws from four carefully selected lieux-dits around the village. 2020 was a rich, concentrated vintage across the Côte de Nuits, producing wines of remarkable depth, ripe tannins and exceptional ageing potential.
Deep ruby with an expressive nose of wild dark berries, earthy forest floor and a fine, pleasantly tense minerality that is unmistakably Gevrey. On the palate the wine is structured and precise, with dark fruit, integrated tannins and a long, focused finish. Drinking well now but built to evolve beautifully over the next 10 years. Top value for the appellation.
Perfect with beef carpaccio, mushroom risotto, duck confit or aged hard cheeses.
