Pacina

Stefano Borsa and Giovanna Tiezzi are the owners of Pacina.

Their land includes an old monastery that is more than a thousand years old. Giovanna has taken over the estate that her great-grandparents bought, and she and Stefano dedicate all of their time and energy into preserving the estate.

In Castelnuovo Berardenga, Tuscany, they are blessed by a land made of sand and clay where you can still find shells if you just dig the ground with you own hands.

The concept is simple. Minimal intervention. Stefano told me that he really wants to do the least possible amount of work in the vineyard, and, for that, you need balance.

They mostly produce Sangiovese, but you can also find Cannaiolo/Ciliegio, both in Pacina and Secondo di Pacina. Strong tannins, matured red fruits, good acidity and strong overall, these are wines you can easily age.
