100% Pinot Noir. Gevrey-Chambertin, labelled as Vin de France. Organically grown vines on clay-limestone soils. Maceration in whole bunches, soft pressing. Aged in barrique. Unfined, unfiltered, zero added sulfites.
The grapes were sourced in accordance with Yann Durieux’s organic practices, as vines in Gevrey are notoriously difficult to acquire. This is natural winemaking at its most sincere, from one of Burgundy’s most gifted and uncompromising vignerons.
The wine reveals an expressive nose of violet, dark cherry, red currant and earthy spice, with a wild, mineral energy that is unmistakably Gevrey. On the palate, it is precise and vibrant, with lively acidity, silky tannins and a long, focused finish that lingers beautifully.
Perfect with beef tartare, roast pigeon, mushroom dishes or aged cheeses.
