Clos de la Roche is the largest and arguably the finest of the five grands crus of Morey Saint Denis, sitting on the mid-slopes of the Côte de Nuits immediately north of Morey Saint Denis village. It is a perennial highlight of the Marchand Tawse range, year after year delivering one of the most compelling expressions of this extraordinary terroir. 2015 was a rich, generous and sun-drenched vintage across the Côte de Nuits, producing wines of exceptional ripeness, round tannins and a voluptuous character that makes them deeply pleasurable now while retaining the structure for long ageing.

Deep ruby with a rich and expressive nose of ripe black cherries, graphite, dark spice and a fine mineral complexity. On the palate the wine is juicy, full and beautifully structured, with concentration and energy in equal measure, and a long, deep finish. Excellent value for a Burgundy Grand Cru of this pedigree.

Outstanding with roast pigeon, venison, duck confit, mushroom-based dishes or aged hard cheeses.
