100% Pinot Noir. 18 months in French oak, 30% new, lightly toasted from Allier, Jupilles and Nevers forests.

Nuits Saint Georges is a signature wine of Maison Marchand Tawse, assembled from three carefully selected parcels that together capture the full character of the appellation. Les Allots and Les Lavières sit on the northern side of town, closer to Vosne Romanée, where soils bring a delicate floral lift and silky texture. Les Maladières to the south adds darker fruit, structure and depth. The result is a wine that shows both sides of Nuits Saint Georges in a single, harmonious expression.

2021 was a challenging vintage in Burgundy marked by frost and low yields, but rigorous sorting in the vineyard and cellar produced wines of remarkable purity, freshness and precision, with a Côte de Nuits that shone particularly well that year.

Bright ruby with an expressive nose of sweet raspberry, wild strawberry and a touch of dark spice. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and energetic, with fine, supple tannins, a saline mineral backbone and a crisp, focused finish. Charming and approachable now, but with the structure to develop beautifully over the next 8 to 10 years.

Excellent with veal saltimbocca, lamb chops, mushroom risotto, duck breast or a porcini quiche.
