Mazis-Chambertin is the northernmost grand cru vineyard in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits sub-region. It covers 9.1 hectares of land on the upper slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin's grand cru belt. Mazis-Chambertin wines are structured and rich, and the best examples closely resemble the wines of the neighboring Clos-de-Bèze climat.
The 2016 vintage is a compelling expression of Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, crafted from 85-year-old vines in the Petits-Mazis section. Powerful and concentrated profile, characterised by a broad-shouldered structure and deep, ripe dark-red fruit.
The wine opens with complex aromas, including ripe red fruit, spice, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is forward and polished, featuring silky textures and flavors of red fruit, spice, and vanilla.
