Altura

Altura, run by Francesco Carfagna and his family, is a special organic vineyard nestled on Isola del Giglio, a small granite island off the Tuscan coast.

On steep, cliffside terraced vineyards overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, they rescued and revived the native Ansonaco grape some 20 years ago — alongside small plantings of red varieties. 

Textural, mineral-rich whites like the deep golden Ansonaco, plus easy-drinking reds rooted in island terroir.

These are wines that express island sunshine, sea breeze, and living soil — a rare glimpse into Giglio’s heritage and mindset.
