Domaine de Villaine

Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron, nestled in the Côte Chalonnaise region between Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay to the north and Rully and Mercurey to the south.

Aubert de Villaine is heir to the most envied of them all, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. He has been running DRC since the mid-nineteen sixties as co-director.

Planted with vines by the monks of Cluny in the Middle Ages, this small, sunny valley has a rich and lengthy tradition of producing quality wines which reflect their exceptional terroir.

Organic since 1986. No use of pesticides or herbicides, and fertilizer use is restricted to organic vegetal compost.

The also very discreet Pierre de Benoist, Aubert’s nephew, has been managing the domaine since 2003.
