Traminer, four days on skins, aged in a used Stockinger oak barrel.
Loud and unmistakably aromatic: rose petal, lychee, bruised pear and a savoury, almost broth-like depth underneath. The skin contact gives it grip and a light tannic edge, so it drinks more like a light red than a white. Serve it cool, not cold.
Milan on the vintage: an exceptional year, with beautifully balanced ripening that gave perfect phenolic maturity while holding onto solid acidity. Wines with endless potential.
Built for the food that usually breaks wine. Thai and Vietnamese herbs, lemongrass, ginger and chilli. Miso-glazed aubergine, roasted mushrooms, anything with dashi. Pork belly, duck, smoked fish. Washed-rind cheeses like Munster or Époisses. Also very good with a plate of charcuterie and nothing else.
No fining, no filtration, no sulphites added.
