50% Chardonnay, 44% Pinot Noir, 6% Pinot Meunier. Zero dosage. Vines averaging 40 years old.

This is not your typical rosé Champagne. Rather than adding a splash of red wine to a white base, Benoît Tarlant starts with the Pinot Noir, making it the backbone of the blend and carefully calibrating its color, tannin and red fruit character before bringing in the Chardonnay for structure and freshness. Grapes are sourced from organically farmed estate vines across 63 parcels in 4 villages near Oeuilly in the Vallée de la Marne. A portion of the red grapes undergoes short maceration before native fermentation, with 20% barrel-aged reserve wines added to complement the 2016 base. No malolactic fermentation, no fining, no filtration, no dosage. Disgorged February 2022 after 5 years on lees in bottle.

Pale salmon in the glass with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is expressive and immediate: cherry blossom, wild strawberry, blood orange and a touch of brioche. On the palate the wine is bright and focused, with crunchy red fruit, a chalky mineral texture and a lemon-edged freshness that keeps everything precise and alive. The finish is long, saline and deeply satisfying. A rosé Champagne with real backbone and zero compromise.

A versatile match at the table. Excellent with seared tuna, smoked salmon, shellfish and langoustines. Also a great partner for duck, lamb or aged Comté.
